The ex-cast member described how she portrayed Belle for three years, and entailed some intensive training she had to undergo.
The process turned out to last four days, which included completing worksheets about Belle while religiously watching Beauty & The Beast. The process included a lesson from the cosmetics team, because each cast member is responsible for their own makeup. If a cast member, does not look 'perfect' they get disapproved, which means that they are not allowed on set. Some cast members get disapproved due to their weight or acne. Ex-Belle stated how they must smile at all times and greet "172 guests per hour" [Ruiz] and if they do not meet this magic number they get reprimanded, and if they get four reprimands they get fired. However, Ex-Belle did say how she missed being a cast member and how she truly enjoyed her experience. |
Reddit Shares Some of their 'Magical' Experiences! Ex-Belle's story may make being a cast member seem to be a very serious occupation. However, some ex/ current cast members on a social forum on Reddit.com posted about some of the craziest things they had seen at the park in order to ensure that the guests and themselves still have a 'magical' experience every time they enter and leave the park.
Overnight cast member, user overnight_cm_girl said "Please PLEASE leave your cremated loved ones at home. Stop dumping them in Haunted Mansion. They just get vacuumed up and disposed of". User Azov237 shared an interesting experience, when working at Cinderella's castle a "family of 4 came in for their dinner. About half way through the dinner the husband politely stands up and taps his glass for attention. He announced that his wife of 15 years has been cheating on his for almost a year. The entire place stood in shock. He motioned for his kids, paid the waitress and left the wife crying at the table". |
